I have looked at various sites and read many books about this subject.
Elvish History
Beginning
Elves live in a place called "Middle Earth." Elves lived in the time of the Faerie. Except they had evolved and adapted. The elves used to have magic until they sealed away the demons in the Forbidding and quit using magic, so it began to slowly fade away. Until they have it no more.
Mankind
Men eventually developed, in the beginning elves payed them no notice. They were just another race. No big deal. Obviously they were wrong. Humans conquered to much land so elves have to move to the forests. When the elves finally decided they had to do something about it all their magic was gone. So they were forced to hide.
